Straight gate type- As a General type, it has the structure of trasmitting
by moving a shift lever in a straight manner.
- There are two modes of PRND2L
of 6 position and PRND32L of 7 position and optionally over drive switch, econ/pwr
mode switch, BTSI system, etc. can be integrated into them.

Step gate type- This type was first used in M-Benz to grow popular.
The steps of Gate confer aesthetic sense and unique operation of a shift. A driver
would hardly make a mistake in handling it while it's not easy to do it while
driving.
- Optionally Over drive switch, Econ/pwr mode switch, Btsi system,
etc..can be integrated into them.

Cable link type- Generally applied to Straight gate type. It has
structure which transmit power with Transmission and Shift lever connected by
Cable

Rod link type- Applied to both of Straight gate type, Step gate type;
It has structure that transmit power with transmission and shift lever connected
by Rod; Power transmitting efficiency is high.

Tiptronics type- New mechanism adding a Manual mode to an Auto mode;
composed of an auto mode of PRND and a +/- Manual mode; When operated in the direction
of + /- in a Manual mode , move upwards/downwards by one step
